BY MANUEL GARCIA

A book for children and adults that never grow up.

The Grass Chopper uses his whirling wings to chop grass into tiny bits of food that he can eat and also uses his amazing whirling wings to fly like a helicopter. The Grass Chopper can hover in midair, fly straight up, downward and even spin around in a circle instantly. He also uses his spinning wings to create powerful winds to blow dirt and leaves at attacking insect predators in order to save his friends. The Grass Chopper is the first in a series of children’s books by author Manuel Garcia.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

MANUEL GARCIA
Manuel Garcia was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He is a true Texan of Mexican-American descent. When he and his siblings were kids, they had a few rough years and he was lucky to get clothes for Christmas. So he had to become creative and use his imagination to invent toys. Living in rural Texas, he found plenty of real-life insects, frogs, turtles and snakes he could try to grab and play with, without getting bitten. There was also that day he tried to play with a bull, who ended up chasing him and his brother instead!

Manuel is an avid reader who loves libraries and is a true believer in the philosophy that “Readers are Leaders!”

Manuel is also referenced in a book, Inside Santa’s Workshop, by Richard C. Levy and Ronald O. Weingartner, as “one of the most prolific inventors the author has ever met.” Besides making up games and puzzles, these days Manuel also invents toy sport play products. During his free time, he creates new artful designs and cartoons and witty sayings on Tshirts, calendars, coffee mugs and numerous other products, which can be purchased in his huge showroom on the Café Press website, mannyscartoons. You can also see Manny’s original cartoon collection on a webpage hosted on Kadon’s gamepuzzles site, Original Cartoons.
In real life, Manuel has worked as an Oil Technology Data Processor for more years than he cares to remember. Manuel and his wife, Susie, have two grown sons―Jason, a businessman, and Sean, a doctor. They all live in Texas.

Manuel conceived the idea of The Grass Chopper many years ago and wrote a small book about this heroic insect.  However, instead of pursuing publication at that time, Manuel focused on inventing board games and puzzles. Two of them, Triangoesth  and TeleportersTM, were and are still produced and marketed by Kadon Enterprises, Inc., and include puzzles, too. Both of these games were chosen for Games Magazine’s “Games 100” list of the 100 best games, in 1988 and 2005, respectively. They can be purchased on Kadon’s website,
